As we learn more about the Corona virus, this is a very interesting article from the NY Times regarding the cell structure and why cleaning with a good soap and water solution is so important to achieve and maintain clean, safe, and sanitary surfaces.
" The virus is enveloped in a bubble of oily lipid molecules,
which falls apart on contact with soap." - NY Times
"How Soap Works"
NY Times
Soap destroys the virus when water-shunning tails of the soap molecules
wedge themselves into the lipid membrane and pry it apart.
The best way to avoid getting infected with the coronavirus
is to wash your hands with soap, avoid touching your face, keep
your distance from sick people and regularly clean frequently used surfaces."
Remember to wet the surface well with your cleaning solution, let it set wet on the surface for at least 30 - 60 seconds, and wipe with a clean cloth or towel. If you wish to disinfect or sanitize further, a clean surface will allow your disinfectant or sanitizer to work effectively. ALWAYS follow your disinfectant or sanitizer label instructions and required dwell time. A quick spray and wipe will do nothing...Read the label! Used incorrectly, disinfectants and sanitizers may be harmful.
